1972 as a mail-order needlework store. The previous owners added custom
framing and art and were the FIRST business to open in conjunction with
the Historic Leavenworth Landing area. In 1980 Meredith & Rick Roush
purchased dorMail Gallery. Today they carry Fine Art, Limited Edition
Prints, Giclees, & Posters from nationally known artists such as Bev
Doolittle, Frank McCarthy, Jim Christensen, John Paul Strain, Mort
Kunstler, Larry Selman, James Dietz, Rod Chase, etc. We sell secondary

KCKCC-Leavenworth Center, located at 225 Cherokee in downtown Leavenworth, offers credit and non-credit classes each semester. The Center opened in January 1988 as an alternative for local residents to the 25-mile drive to campus. The Center consists of 21 classrooms, which include science and computer laboratories. Qualified instructors teach the same courses that are offered on campus. In August 2007, OnTrack, the non-credit adult basic education and GED preparation program, was added to the programs available at KCKCC-Leavenworth Center. This adult learning program is designed to improve skills and help students realize their educational dreams. After assessing students' level of preparation, the program is customized to individual student needs and includes employment skills training to prepare for a future career. The Center is also available for use by area businesses for training and community organizations for meetings and activities. The Prairie Queen is the premier bed and breakfast in Leavenworth, and takes its name from a Missouri River river boat that docked at Leavenworth. The Prairie Queen was built in 1868 by one of Leavenworth's early industrialists, John Wilson, who was the president of Great Western Manufacturing. The mission of The Pot Rack is to provide our customer with a full array of products and services that will assist them with the preparation and presentation of wonderful foods and meals to be shared with loved ones, family, and friends; and to support the history of this great city. We will have a large assortment of kitchen tools, accessories, small appliances, cookware, serving pieces, gift items and gourmet food products. Interested in historic preservation and with a love of the community, Ollie and Kathryn West purchased the buildings at 626 Cherokee. It was on this site that the A.M. Geiger & Co business first hung their shingle in 1892 and the location that it owned until 1968. Proudly, the Geiger Ready Mix Company still lives on in Leavenworth, Kansas.
